Learn the very basics of Breakdance.

For the 6th year now giving these basics classes in Breaking on my own I have always been queried with these questions. Here I am, making it easier for anyone who wishes to know how to start. When I started learning back in 2001, it was much harder to get information. Feel free to ask any-more question by e-mail on startbreaking@gmail.com.
Our mission is to start 1000 boys and 1000 girls.

"What is Breakdance is it a sport? Who can do it, am I fit for it?"
"How strong do you need to be? Do you need super powers to be able to breakdance?"
"How do you not break your neck? Is there any age limit?"
"Can my child start? do you need experience in dance?"
"I already do another type of dance and sport, can I still try it?"

Breaking(Breakdance) is ultimately a dance style, and although it is highly regarded as sport, and practised as a sport, like any other dance style-dance can keep you as fit as almost an athlete. However, athletes do sport, and dancers dance!

On average, you need to be fit to walk more than 3km at a normal pace in 1 hour or less. There are also exceptions, and this is only my personal philosophy to answer the question.

The stronger you are the better moves you will do, the more super powers you have the more super power moves you will do; the bigger you are though, the harder it will get to move.

By building muscles around all of your body and starting from the basic moves first, you will avoid a lot of injuries...a lot!  You can start from as little as 5 years and then probably there is almost no age limit.

Yes every child can start, even with no other dance experience.

Yes!
